Tryout Details
All participants will have an opportunity to make a Madcat team based on their age division. Our goal is to provide all kids a chance to play on a Madcat team. We will form teams based on the number of kids that try out. However, we won't fill teams with more than 12 kids per team to ensure each player gets as much playing time as possible. Therefore, if we don't have enough kids to fill a full team, we may have to cut kids (this is the last option). We encourage all players who intend to try out, to practice as much as possible before the tryout to improve their skills for the day of tryouts.
Tryouts will entail hitting, throwing, fielding, running, and pitching.
AGE CUTOFF DATE: MAY 1ST, 2025

7U- Must be 7 or younger on April 30, 2025 *(1st grade '23-'24)

8u – Must be 8 or younger on April 30, 2025 *(2nd grade ’23-’24)

9u – Must be 9 or younger on April 30, 2025 *(3rd grade ’23-’24)

10u – Must be 10 or younger on April 30, 2025 *(4th grade ’23-’24)

11u – Must be 11 or younger on April 30, 2025 *(5th grade ’23-’24)

12u – Must be 12 or younger on April 30, 2025 *(6th grade ’23-’24)

13u – Must be 13 or younger on April 30, 2025 *(7th grade ’23-’24)

14u – Must be 14 or younger on April 30, 2025 *(8th grade ’23-’24)
GRADE EXCEPTION
Grade Exception: Players in the corresponding grade will be allowed to play even if they do not meet at age cutoff date.
Grade Exception Requirement: Any player wishing to be granted a grade exception, must fill out the Grade Exception Request Form, as well as submit a birth certificate and proof of current grade. Once received, Idaho Select and/or Rocky Mountain School of Baseball will review the request and communicate back to the coach if the request is granted or not. Players wishing to be granted a Grade Exception cannot play until Idaho Select and/or Rocky Mountain approves their request.
